“I first came across Samantha's services while I was hunting for a make up artist for my wedding. I was (and am) already a big fan of her work on Instagram and she was my top pick for my wedding. After reaching out to her, it turned out that she wasn't available for my date, but she offered to do a private virtual class to teach me how to apply make up. Let me tell you - she is AMAZING. Hire her for events, book her for your future wedding, learn from her as much as you can! While stuck in lockdown last year, I had started dabbling with makeup but found that it was really difficult to find Youtube tutorials for Asian faces like mine. Sam was able to teach me makeup application techniques for my unique features, which isn't something that you'll find anywhere! Prior to the class, I emailed her constantly with questions about what products to purchase, and she always responded really quickly (a trait that I REALLY appreciate in a time when "ghosting" is so common) and she promptly covered every single concern I had. I also sent her a couple of different looks I wanted to learn, from a natural minimalistic face to a bolder, evening look. She was able to combine the looks and show me how to build up from one to the other all in a single session. Her teaching technique makes you feel SUPER confident, even if it's your first time. What's more surprising is that even though that was the first time we had seen or spoken to each other face to face, I felt like I was learning from my big sister! What's most important is that she is gracious and kind - she never made me feel like I was asking a stupid question, or that she was rushing to get through everything she wanted to teach me. I felt like she made a great effort to listen to everything I had to say and that meant a lot to me. I also really admire her passion to help others accentuate their features with makeup, rather than covering up or trying to look like an entirely different person. I knew I wanted to find someone truly gifted to help me with my makeup, but I wasn't sure who to choose from 3,000 miles away.
